In television, she's played prominent roles on "The Newsroom," "Code Black," "How to Get Away with Murder,"" "Trophy Wife,"" and "The Morning Show," in addition to other shows. Harden is also a stage actor and performs in Broadway's "Angels in America" as well as "God of Carnage". "Marcia Gay Harden was born 14th August 1959 in the La Jolla area of San Diego, California to Beverly who was a housewife and Thad an US Navy officer. She is the mother to one brother and three sisters. The family often moved due to her father's occupation as diplomat, which meant that they lived across the world , including countries such as Germany, Japan, and Greece. Harden attended Surrattsville High School in Clinton before settling in Maryland. In 1980, she attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a bachelor's in theater. Harden was accepted into NYU's Tisch School of the Arts 1988 in order to earn her MFA.
